November 7, 2020 – Ordering the prix fixe was the way to go

Wow. Absolutely a great treat in the heart of Carlton. The menu was fantastic, and ordering the prix fixe was the way to go. Amazingly, he let me order a half glass of wine as well, which was enough for me to enjoy yet feel safe driving. Order the escargot (if available) and use bread to sop up every little thing left in the serving dish. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

October 22, 2020 – This one should be on your list!

Lovely little bistro in Carlton. Food well prepared with wonderful use of seasonings that pop out of the base food item.  Noice selection of local wines ((allows boy with a corkage fee). Decorated with tasteful and pleasant art from local artists. Not a whole lot of dinner selections for Carlton but this one should be on your list  Did I forget to say prices are also very reasonable.

October 17, 2020 – Henri – the owner & chef is a gem

We moved to Oregon 2+ years ago & live in West Linn, about 45 min away from Carlton. Cuvée is THE best meal & restaurant we’ve been to since moving to Oregon. We will be back.

Henri – the owner & chef is a gem. Wonderful dry sense of humor, great customer service & host. My wife & I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cuvée. We couldn’t have selected a better place to celebrate. While the entree selection may not be huge, it’s very similar to what you would find in a quaint restaurant in France or Switzerland. Henri had, maybe […]

August 31, 2020 – I was so mesmerized by the food.

I was so mesmerized by the food, I forgot to take any photos! We dined at Cuvee for my husband’s birthday, and I’m so glad we did! It was an amazing excellent experience. They were out of the pinot we wanted, but recommended Arbor Brooks pinot, which was delicious! So we were off to a good start. We chose to share an appetizer and a dessert, which was plenty to share for two. We started with the champignons (French for mushrooms) with the semolina cake. Delicious. They also served complimentary fresh and warm bread with butter. Then he had the […]

August 22, 2020 – The desserts were the show-stoppers.

Our first time staying in the charming town of Carlton made even more pleasant by dining at this gem of a restaurant.
In this time of COVID-19, it is harder than ever for businesses to maintain the quality of hospitality and meals, yet the Prix Fixe dinner we enjoyed was a delight from start to finish. As good as the main courses were, (Steak for my wife, Pork medallions in Alsatian style for me),
the desserts of creme brûlée and chocolate mousse were the show-stoppers.

A must visit while in Willamette Valley Wine Country

February 16, 2020 – So lucky to find this little gem

Such an amazing meal! We were so lucky to find this little gem in Carlton. A sweet little restaurant is full of an amazing staff and chef. I’m gluten intolerant, so going to a French restaurant tends to not be a fun trip. But here, I was able to eat almost everything. Even my family with additional soy and dairy allergies were able to enjoy their dinner. So thankful for the amazing night. Oh! And a great wine selection.

September 13, 2019 – Wonderfully Prepared

We enjoyed a wonderfully prepared classic French meal in Cuvee’s warm and inviting dining room. Food was tastefully presented, exceptionally fresh and obviously prepared with great care. Cuvee provided something that even the most heralded restaurants fail to achieve – nourishment.  It was very satisfying and one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The escargot, champignon with semolina cake, coquilles st jacques, pork loin and creme brûlée and creme caramel, not to mention the butternut squash soup and salad were excellent! Chef Gil Henry certainly knows food and how to satisfy diners. Looking forward to returning […]

October 10, 2019 – Classic Country Alsatian

I really enjoyed this experience.  Everything really reminded me of a classic country Alsatian more casual spot.  Prices were extremely fair, quality was obviously fresh and local, the preparation was simple and really well executed.  Pork chop I had was very nicely medium done and succulent.  Pan fried oysters in clarified butter was also extremely delicious, the oyster being cooked with perfect texture.  Enjoyed a great valued Alsatian Pinot Gris which paired excellently with the food.

Lunch with Nicholas Kristof!

Rub shoulders with two-time-Pulitzer-prizewinner Nicholas Kristof — a native of Yamhill, Oregon – at an intimate Dec 7 or 8, 2019, three-course luncheon for 20.

$500/seat benefits the Yamhill Enrichment Society entirely, the ultimate “experience” gift! New York Times rules ban their star reporters from doing fundraising events, except for their own hometown, and only to benefit education. We’re delighted to welcome Mr. Kristof home to Yamhill, and delighted he has chosen the Yamhill Enrichment Society to support.

Lunch will be at Cuvee Restaurant in Carlton, with Kookoolan Farms 100% grass-fed beef being turned into classic Beouff Bourgignon by […]
